Skiing in Italy. Sassotetto, 7kms from the town of Sarnano, is a medium sized ski resort. It has 1 chair lift and 8 surface lifts and is best suited to intermediate Skiers and Snowboarders. There are 180 metres of vertical decent and a total of 9 pistes with terrain for both beginners and advanced skiers.
We can arrange for all your gear to be hired at one of our recommended hotels or your self catering farmhouse and passes can be bought in advance. Transport is available to and from the resort and lunch can be had at one of the delightful wooden built restaurants at the top of the lifts. Sit and enjoy a hot chocolate or a coffee or even something stronger. Or indulge yourself in a 3 course Marchegiani meal of gargantuan proportions including wines and coffee’s.
For those not partaking of the Ski experience, you can just take in the ambiance of the restaurants and the stunning views, and if you so desire, a trip up to the resort at night time can be arranged as the pistes are floodlit, and there is an outside deck which looks out over the snow-laden hills across to the coast, which is great to sit out on, wrapped in a blanket hugging a warming drink.
Snowboarding is a particular favourite for the young and agile, as there are natural lumps and bumps which provide the opportunity for wonderful acrobatics.
Skiing in Italy. There is truly something for all ages.
